Peter in Melbourne for the AWRI Sparkling Wine Symposium

Being invited to the Sparkling Symposium, Melbourne, in June was an opportunity not to be missed. It was a meeting of Australian sparkling minds and practices. Many in depth topics were discussed from yeasts to comparisons with Australian methode traditionelle to French champagnes. I was pleased that Garbin Wines' technical practices are right up there and just a couple of “one percenters” were gleaned.  It was unanimously agreed that the future of Australian methode traditionelle sparklings looks bright.
