There was a prediction that vintage 2018 was going to be early this year and yes we started on 12th January. Garbin Estate always picks Chardonnay early for our sparkling methode traditionelle range as higher acidity is a requirement for a good sparkling. The white varieties were picked later after some unexpected rain mid January and being the Swan Valley, consistency is always there. Good acidity and balancing pH which aids quality and longevity of premium wines. With a record mild summer our reds produced were of good colour and flavour - not too overripe or alcoholic. Garbin Estate will be releasing 2018 vintages for tasting end of May 2018 including a new Sangiovese Rose style and our always popular Chenin.
